Pick Intune if you're already running Microsoft 365 and Azure. Pick Endpoint Central if you manage a mixed-OS fleet and want strong patching and remote control without buying into one vendor's ecosystem. Intune lives inside the Microsoft world. It ties into Azure AD, Microsoft 365, and Defender, so identity, device policy, and threat protection all work from the same place. If your users already sign in with Microsoft accounts and you lean on Windows Autopilot for new device setup, Intune slots right in. Outside that ecosystem, the value drops. Endpoint Central is built around the day-to-day work of keeping devices patched, deployed, and supported. Automated patching covers Windows, Mac, Linux, and third-party apps. Remote control lets your admins jump on a user's machine and fix issues fast. Software deployment pushes apps to many devices at once. Users find the interface easy to pick up. Pricing splits the two. Intune starts at $8 per user per month, so costs scale with headcount. Endpoint Central starts at $795 annually, which can work out cheaper for larger device counts but takes more math to compare. Different billing models, so weigh them against your seat count and device mix. Both have a learning curve at setup, and both handle iOS and Android, though Intune's mobile customization trails its Windows controls. Endpoint Central's privilege management needs manual work for temporary admin access. If you want the deepest Microsoft integration, go Intune.
