It integrates directly with Git and SVN, which makes it a natural fit if your team is already working with those version control systems. Users find it easy to get up and running, and the focus on core project management tasks keeps things from getting complicated.

Redmine takes a different approach. It's open-source and free to use, which means your upfront cost is essentially $0 — though you'll need to factor in hosting and setup time. Backlog starts at $35 per month, so the gap is real if budget is a constraint.
