User-friendly interface with intuitive navigation and an all-in-one design - Employees can access wages before payday through the Pay Now feature - Scales from single-employee setups to workforces of over 1,000 - 24/7 support available, with the option for a dedicated payroll and tax specialist - Intuitive interface that's easy to use even without a dedicated HR background - Strong compliance tools, including a library, calendar, and state-specific guides - Broad HR resource set — handbook builder, job description generator, and training courses - Compliance training courses help keep you up to date on legal requirements Cons What we dislike about Paychex and Mineral Platform: - Add-on costs for features like time tracking and benefits admin can drive up the price - Time tracking is cumbersome — you have to click into each employee individually - Mobile app has occasional glitches and slow loading, especially on cellular data - Some users struggle to reach their assigned customer service representative - Pricing isn't published and requires contacting the vendor for a quote - Removing employees from the system is more complicated than it should be - Limited ability to add your own content or deeply customize the platform - Customer service responsiveness has been a recurring concern for some users ### Our Review **Bottom line:** Paychex is a better fit if you need a full payroll and HR platform in one place. Mineral Platform makes more sense if compliance management is your top priority and you don't need payroll built in. Paychex starts at $39 per month, with pricing that varies depending on the number of employees and any add-ons you choose. Mineral Platform doesn't publish pricing — you'll need to contact them for a quote. If budget transparency matters to you, Paychex gives you a clearer starting point. Where Paychex stands out is breadth. It handles payroll, taxes, time and attendance, benefits, and HR in one system. Employees can clock in from the dashboard or mobile app, access pay stubs and PTO balances, and even get wages early through the Pay Now feature. That kind of end-to-end coverage is hard to match. Mineral Platform takes a narrower but focused approach. It's built around HR compliance — think compliance libraries, state-specific guides, a handbook builder, and live HR advisor support. If you're a small or mid-sized operation that needs help staying current with labor laws but doesn't want to manage payroll in-house, it's a strong option. The tradeoffs are real. Paychex adds cost as you layer on features, and some users find the mobile experience and time tracking tedious. Mineral Platform's customization options are limited, and removing employees from the system can be awkward. Neither is perfect, but they're solving different problems. If you need payroll as the core of your HR stack, Paychex is the clear choice. If you're primarily looking for compliance guidance and HR resources, Mineral Platform is worth a serious look. ### Analyst Rating Summary Overall Scores Based on the research and analysis by SelectHub's team of research analysts, Paychex has an analyst rating of 76.
