Very User-Friendly But Not Great For Small Companies
Very user-friendly. Each of our employees are able to access their Gusto account to look at their paystubs and benefits. Setting up terminations, new hires, off-cycle payrolls are pretty easy too. Clean and elaborate website to navigate around.
We had an issue during our benefits renewal process with Gusto. Our Benefits coordinator and our Rewnewal coordinator kept trying to pass us around to someone else. We had been assigned to 4 different coordinators over the course of a week and a half.
What Gusto provides is very helpful, but the customer service is not up to par for our personal experience with them.

Gusto takes no responsibility for their software defects
The only thing I ever liked about Gusto was that it was a low-cost solution. That was until we were hit with thousands of dollars in fines from the Dept. of Labor for being non-compliant on workers compensation when Gusto said we were compliant. So, in conclusion, there are no "pros" to using Gusto.
Using Gusto led directly to getting hit with an $18,000 penalty from the Department of Labor for being non-compliant for workers compensation. This was Gusto's fault, as our Gusto dashboard said that we were compliant when in reality, we were not (we submitted screenshots to prove it). Gusto reported that this was a "bug" and blamed the issue on a third party partner they use, who in turn blamed Gusto. No one accepted responsibility or offered any assistance. We were forced to negotiate directly with the Department of Labor and ended up paying a reduced penalty, which still cost us thousands of dollars.
