 What we like about Bitwarden and Norton Password Manager:

 Cons

 What we dislike about Bitwarden and Norton Password Manager:

* Autofill and auto-save require more clicks than competing tools and feel less polished
* Lacks advanced features like address autofill and email masking found in other managers
* Importing passwords from browsers or most other managers is cumbersome

* No password sharing or TOTP support, which rules it out for teams with security needs
* Limited browser compatibility with no support for browsers like Brave
* Customer support is slow and often doesn't fully resolve issues

###  Our Review

**Bottom line:** Bitwarden is the stronger pick if you want serious security controls, open-source transparency, or the ability to self-host. Norton Password Manager makes more sense if you want something free and simple to get started with, and don't need advanced features.

Both tools use 256-bit AES encryption and a zero-knowledge architecture, so neither can see your data. Where they split is depth. Bitwarden's open-source codebase means anyone can audit it, and it supports self-hosting if you want to keep your vault off third-party servers entirely. Norton's codebase is closed, and there's no self-hosting option.

On features, Bitwarden pulls ahead for power users. It includes vault health reports, two-factor authentication with multiple options, emergency access, and encrypted file attachments. Norton covers the basics well — password generation, form filling, and a security dashboard — but it doesn't support password sharing, TOTP authentication, or encrypted file storage.

Pricing looks close but works differently. Bitwarden starts at $10 per year, while Norton Password Manager starts at $7.99 per user per month. If you're comparing annual cost for a single user, Bitwarden's premium plan is significantly cheaper. Norton does offer a free tier with no storage limits, which is worth noting if you only need essentials.

Norton is easier to get started with — users find its interface more intuitive, and setup is straightforward. Bitwarden's autofill and auto-save work well but require more clicks, and its interface has a steeper learning curve.

If you're a casual user who wants a free, no-fuss tool, Norton fits well. If you need open-source trust, self-hosting, or a richer feature set for a very low annual cost, Bitwarden is the better choice.
