**Our Research Process for HubSpot Sales Hub**

I took a no-shortcuts approach with my HubSpot research. I signed up for their free trial to play around with it myself while also reading what other users said on G2\. I examined all the features the company promotes and dove into their case studies. For some expert perspective, I looked at SelectHub's analyst reports. Watching product demos and tutorials also aided my research and testing of the platform.

My favorite part was chatting with actual daily users who gave me the unvarnished truth about working with HubSpot Sales. All of this allowed me to form an authentic, well-rounded opinion about the CRM's strengths and limitations.

### Synopsis of User Ratings and Reviews

Based on an aggregate of HubSpot Sales reviews taken from the sources above, the following pros & cons have been curated by a SelectHub Market Analyst.

#### Pros

* **Ease of Use:** Users praised the platform's straightforward navigation and user-friendly features.
* **Customer Support:** Reviewers appreciated the prompt and helpful assistance available when issues arise.
* **Learning Resources:** An active community and extensive support materials, including tutorials, guides and forums, aid users in mastering the platform.
* **Team Collaboration:** Sales Hub promotes seamless communication and information sharing among team members with its collaborative features.

**What Users Like**

* **Customer Support:** “Customer service is outstanding. You can talk to customer support and receive a relevant, contextual answer from a real person instead of a useless chatbot.” - [Michael Maximoff](https://www.linkedin.com/in/michael-maximoff), Founder of appointment setting agency [Belkins](https://belkins.io/)

#### Cons

* **Cost:** Many users found HubSpot Sales Hub's pricing structure challenging, especially for smaller businesses. The need for paid add-ons to access certain features can increase overall costs.
* **Initial Setup:** Despite its user-friendly interface, the initial setup process can be complex.
* **Forecasting:** Some users mentioned that the forecasting feature could be more advanced or customizable.

**What Users Dislike**

* **Cost:** “What we like least about Hubspot is its pricing increases. When we started, it was pretty affordable with the credits, but now, as time passes, we're charged more and more because of the contacts database increasing in size, new users, new roles and more features, and in the end, we're paying a huge amount of money each month for it.” - [Miquel Palet](https://www.linkedin.com/in/miquelpalet), Founder and CEO of [Get-Invoice.com](https://www.get-invoice.com/)

#### Researcher's Summary:

After getting our hands on HubSpot Sales Hub, we found it extremely easy to use, thanks to the helpful guides and support materials. We believe the Sales Hub is the best part of HubSpot overall.

The [contact management](https://www.businessnewsdaily.com/16186-what-is-contact-management.html) feature is one of my favorites. It allows you to store and manage all your customer information in one place. You can easily organize and segment contacts, track their interactions with your business, and gain insights into their behavior and preferences.

[NTUC First Campus](https://www.hubspot.com/case-studies/ntucfirstcampus) (NFC), one of Singapore's largest early childhood education providers with over 180 centers and 5,000 employees, struggled to manage customer leads and inquiries. Their teams had trouble tracking parent inquiries from various channels, leading to cold leads, poor customer satisfaction and inefficient workflows.

After choosing HubSpot to integrate their marketing, sales and support operations, NFC transformed their entire process with automated workflows that now track over 50,000 annual leads. The results have been impressive — a double-digit percentage increase in enrollments, at least 5,000 hours of productivity gains for enrollment advisors, and significantly improved collaboration between marketing and sales teams.

One of the standout capabilities of HubSpot is its ability to automatically capture and track website visitors and turn them into leads. Its free [website builder](https://www.hubspot.com/products/cms/drag-and-drop-website-builder) is a powerful tool for small businesses, as it allows you to create and manage a professional-looking website with advanced marketing features.

The email marketing capabilities are truly second to none. You can set up automated email campaigns that nurture leads through the sales funnel. Also, you can create targeted content and messages that are sent based on a lead’s behavior, interests and stage in the buying journey. It may seem complex initially, but you’ll see that HubSpot’s email marketing engine operates as effectively as dedicated email marketing platforms.

I highly appreciate HubSpot’s reporting capabilities. You can choose from a variety of ready-made reports and organize them into separate dashboards. Even the free plan includes multiple dashboards and up to 30 reports. Compared to other email and contact management tools, the data is really easy to read.

However, there are some downsides. The main one is the cost. While HubSpot offers a free version that many find useful, it can get expensive quickly if you need more advanced features. We found that it can end up costing more than similar tools when you add all the extras you need.

Another consideration is that while HubSpot has most of the features you'd want in a sales tool, some common ones are only available in the more expensive plans. This can be challenging for small businesses.

Overall, HubSpot Sales Hub offers significant advantages for medium to large enterprises. We advise you to think carefully about what features you need and how much you're willing to spend before committing.

## Key Features

* **Lead Scoring:** You can evaluate and score leads based on demographic data and prospect actions to prioritize those most likely to convert. The system automatically identifies and merges duplicate leads or contacts by comparing various identifiers like names, email addresses, domain names and phone numbers. Set up custom workflow rules to assign leads to salespeople or teams based on criteria such as geographic location, industry, product interest, department, lead source and even budget size.
* **Custom Reports:** You can create tailored reports by extracting data from multiple areas of the CRM platform, meeting unique business requirements. Pre-built templates provide quick insights into sales performance and milestones, with options for saved searches and filters. You can export reports in PDF, XLS or CSV formats or schedule them for recurring email delivery.
* **Email Communication:** The platform offers a standard email configuration, allowing you to send and receive emails directly within the CRM system. You can schedule emails for future delivery at specific dates and times. The system provides pre-selected time options or allows for custom scheduling. Real-time notifications alert you when prospects open emails, and the system helps you set follow-up reminders.
* **Native iOS and Android Apps:** The mobile app allows you to access and update CRM data, schedule meetings and collaborate with team members while on the go.
* **Data Visualizations:** You can generate interactive, drill-down visualizations in various formats, including bar, line, funnel, table, column, donut and pie charts.
* **Appointment Scheduling:** HubSpot Sales Hub enables seamless appointment booking through schedulers or calendar links. You can effortlessly capture essential details like location, customer name and time.

## See It in Action: Testing HubSpot's Integration Capabilities

SelectHub’s analysts ranked HubSpot as the leader in integrations and extensibility, so I wanted to test it myself. I started with one of the most essential integrations for any CRM user — connecting my work Gmail account.

1\. The process was simple. Starting from my Home page, I navigated to **Settings** and found the **Email** section under **General**. There, I found the **Connect personal email** option and clicked it.

![](https://www.selecthub.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/hubspot-email-integration-1.png)

![](https://www.selecthub.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/hubspot-email-integration-2-2.png)

2\. Unlike the typical integration process that often involves multiple confusing steps, this was seamless. I just entered my email address and was directed to Google's sign-in page to authorize HubSpot's access.

![](https://www.selecthub.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/hubspot-email-integration-3.png)

![](https://www.selecthub.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/hubspot-email-integration-6.png)

3\. Before I knew it, my inbox was connected — no waiting and no technical hurdles. HubSpot's inbox extension is also available for Chrome, which lets you access the CRM directly from Gmail. For people who practically live in their inbox, this extension can be a godsend to their workflow.

![](https://www.selecthub.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/hubspot-email-integration-7-1.png)

![](https://www.selecthub.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/hubspot-email-integration-8.png)

After the integration, I could jump into customizing email templates and setting up A/B tests without any additional setup. The whole process took just a few minutes, and I never once saw those annoying loading screens that are common in integrations with other platforms.

## Approach to Common Challenges

* **Lack of a User-Friendly Interface:** Sales Hub focuses on creating a clean and intuitive interface for its CRM. Visual workflows and drag-and-drop features make it easy to navigate the system.
* **Limited Integration Capabilities:** HubSpot offers a wide range of integration options through its app marketplace and pre-built connections, allowing businesses to connect the CRM with other essential tools.
* **Customization Limitations:** The platform allows you to adapt the CRM to your business needs with custom fields, workflows and developer tools.
* **Insufficient Reporting Capabilities:** Sales Hub offers both ready-made and custom reports to help businesses track key metrics and make data-driven decisions.

"description": "HubSpot Sales Hub is an all-around CRM solution that delivers numerous features, including contact management, email tracking, meeting scheduling and pipeline management. Its automation capabilities help sales teams focus on high-value activities.Key aspects include lead scoring, email communication, custom reports, and integration with HubSpot's marketing and service hubs. Recent updates have introduced AI-powered tools for more efficient sales forecasting and lead scoring. It’s particularly beneficial for small to medium-sized businesses, though it scales well for larger enterprises. Users praise HubSpot Sales Hub for its user-friendly interface and integration capabilities. However, some find the learning curve steep for advanced features and mention that customization options can be limited in lower-tier plans.IntegrationsGiven HubSpot’s popularity, it can integrate seamlessly with nearly all major software brands. In our analysis, HubSpot ranked the best for integrations and extensibility. You can easily integrate with accounting platforms, BI tools, CPQ software, project management systems, Microsoft 365 and more.PricingHubSpot offers four pricing options: Free: $0 for up to 2 users Starter: $15/month/seat Starter Customer Platform: $15/month/seat Professional: $99/month/seat Enterprise: $150/month/seatOur Research Process for HubSpot Sales HubI took a no-shortcuts approach with my HubSpot research. I signed up for their free trial to play around with it myself while also reading what other users said on G2. All of this allowed me to form an authentic, well-rounded opinion about the CRM's strengths and limitations.",

"reviewBody": "After getting our hands on HubSpot Sales Hub, we found it extremely easy to use, thanks to the helpful guides and support materials. We believe the Sales Hub is the best part of HubSpot overall. The contact management feature is one of my favorites. It allows you to store and manage all your customer information in one place. You can easily organize and segment contacts, track their interactions with your business, and gain insights into their behavior and preferences.NTUC First Campus (NFC), one of Singapore's largest early childhood education providers with over 180 centers and 5,000 employees, struggled to manage customer leads and inquiries. Its free website builder is a powerful tool for small businesses, as it allows you to create and manage a professional-looking website with advanced marketing features. The email marketing capabilities are truly second to none. You can set up automated email campaigns that nurture leads through the sales funnel. Also, you can create targeted content and messages that are sent based on a lead’s behavior, interests and stage in the buying journey. It may seem complex initially, but you’ll see that HubSpot’s email marketing engine operates as effectively as dedicated email marketing platforms.I highly appreciate HubSpot’s reporting capabilities. We found that it can end up costing more than similar tools when you add all the extras you need.Another consideration is that while HubSpot has most of the features you'd want in a sales tool, some common ones are only available in the more expensive plans. This can be challenging for small businesses.Overall, HubSpot Sales Hub offers significant advantages for medium to large enterprises. We advise you to think carefully about what features you need and how much you're willing to spend before committing."
