AI tools help you create courses in minutes and tailor training elements to each user's specific needs. One time-saving tool I really liked is Intelligent Assist. You just have to ask a question like, “How many learners have not been graded?” and you'll instantly get the report or action screen you need.

Absorb Pinpoint, their video timestamping expert, uses AI and NLP to transcribe and timestamp video lessons. This allows you to find exactly what you want to learn in a long video without watching the whole thing, another great time-saver.

I recently explored Absorb LMS and was thoroughly impressed by its diverse feature set. The platform excels in course creation, offering tools to add online courses, create custom content, incorporate instructor-led training (ILT), and bundle courses into cohesive curriculums.

One of its standout features is the flexibility it provides. Whether you're building a course from scratch or uploading pre-existing materials like videos or PowerPoint presentations, Absorb makes the process smooth and quick.

Its AI-powered tools are a game-changer, swiftly transforming brief descriptions or uploaded content into fully structured, engaging courses tailored to your needs.

It also offers plenty of tools to really enhance the learner experience. For starters, you can fully customize the dashboard to match your branding — whether it's adding logos, design elements or using templates.

The only downside is that it could have some more eCommerce features and built-in virtual classroom tools. Its question bank functionality is limited to only multiple-choice and text-based questions, so it’d be nice to see some variety there. Also, while the interface is undoubtedly a cakewalk to navigate, it could use a bit of color and style, some visual flair to engage learners quickly.

Overall, Absorb LMS is a solid choice for anyone looking to boost their training and development efforts. I loved that it offers a free trial, a suite of useful features for both mid-market and big businesses alike, and excellent customer support. It has great built-in tools and integration capabilities, and rightly stands out among our top five LMS solutions.

The AI-powered features are excellent. You can generate courses just from a short description of your topic, a PDF or even pasted text from a document or website. I was amazed at how quickly it could transform this content into a complete course. If you’re looking to make your course more engaging, you can even use AI-generated voiceovers.
  
  
I also liked how customizable the AI was. You can instruct it to adjust the level of detail, change page titles, simplify the language or make the tone more professional, depending on what you need.

  
Beyond just the course content, Absorb offers a variety of interactive elements to enhance learner engagement. You can easily add buttons, shapes and media elements like images, videos and audio, and even create knowledge check questions such as multiple choice, true/false, matching, free text and ratings.

From an accessibility standpoint, I really appreciated one feature in particular: the ability to display the reading order. This feature clearly indicates the text that should be read next, making it easier for all learners to access.

There's the option to adjust the player appearance, upload your logo and customize slide backgrounds. In addition, you can build course bundles, create comprehensive curriculums, and manage or create new categories, providing plenty of flexibility when designing your training programs.

Absorb’s Competencies feature is a great way to reward users for completing courses. For example, when a user completes a first aid training course, they can earn a competency like “CPR Certification.” These competencies are added to the user's profile, and help track their progress and achievements.

  
I liked how easy it was to create and assign competencies, as well as how I could award them on an increasing scale using competency levels. I could even personalize the competencies with unique names and images, which appear as icons or “badges” on user transcripts.

One feature that stood out was how admins can use competencies to manage access to additional content. When a learner earns a specific competency, you can easily grant or restrict access to related catalog content. This helps keep the system organized and ensures that learners are progressing before moving on to more advanced material.

Enrollment keys in Absorb make it incredibly easy to bring learners into your system. Here’s how it works: you create a unique key and link it to specific courses or departments. For example, I assigned a key, **AX**, to the **SelectHub LMS Trial** department so that learners could automatically join the right group when they used the key.
  
  
You can customize the experience further by setting up temporary passwords, which let learners set their own secure passwords when redeeming the key. I assigned a course, like the **Absorb Create Curriculum**, so learners are automatically enrolled as soon as they activate the key.

  
Enrollment keys are highly flexible. You can set start and expiration dates to control access. You can even limit the number of times a key can be used, which ensures you don’t exceed your intended enrollments. You can also add personal touches, like custom email templates in the learner’s language.

  
Once the key is generated, it’s ready to share with your learners.

  
**Collaborations**

  
I really liked the collaboration features in Absorb LMS Engage — they’re a great way to get learners talking, sharing ideas, and engaging with course content. It acts like a built-in discussion board, but for specific topics or training programs.
  
  
**Here’s how I set it up:** I gave the collaboration a name and added a description to explain its purpose. I decided whether to make it live immediately or wait until everything was ready. Then, I linked the collaboration to specific courses, users and groups, and uploaded documents, links and other resources for learners to review and discuss.

  
Once live, learners could start engaging — reading, sharing posts, replying, liking and even messaging or chatting with others (thanks to the Microsoft Teams integration). With features like flagging inappropriate content and tracking activity, make managing collaborations really easy.

  
**Reporting**

  
Absorb’s reporting Interface offers comprehensive insights into how learners interact with your training resources. The system lets you track progress, measure ROI and make data-driven decisions about administrative actions like enrollments.

  
You can create custom reports using the Essentials tool, or generate reports for learning activities, learner progress, course summaries, ILC sessions, assessments, competencies and more.

When creating a custom report, you start by giving the report a name and selecting a data source. For example, you can choose **Course Enrollments** as your data source to track learner progress in specific courses.

  
After setting up these basics, you’ll select the data fields to include, such as course enrollment status, date completed, time spent, progress and more. You can search through available fields and choose the most relevant ones for your report.
  
  
Once you've added the necessary fields, you can apply filters and sorting options to refine your data. For example, you might filter by enrollment status or sort by the date the course was accessed. You can also choose the report's status, either active or inactive, and decide whether to save it, preview it or generate it.

  
The system offers the option to quickly save your progress, making it easy to come back to the report later. Once everything is set, you can generate the report to view the data you’ve compiled based on your specific filters and selections.

  
One feature I appreciated was the option to customize the data columns in reports. I could add, remove or reorder columns based on the information I needed, such as swapping out **Course Progress** for **Location** columns. By saving these custom layouts, I could quickly pull up the same report format whenever necessary.
  
  
The administrative actions, like editing learner details, were also well-integrated with the reports. For bulk actions, the **Mass Actions** feature made tasks like enrolling multiple learners at once much more efficient. I also liked how I could filter reports based on specific parameters and save these filtered layouts for future use.
