OneNote gives you a notebook-section-page hierarchy that scales for sprawling projects, research, and class notes. It runs on Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and the web, so you're not locked to one operating system. Tight links to Outlook, Teams, and Word make it a natural fit if your day already runs through Microsoft tools.

Apple Notes leans on simplicity. Folders, tags, and smart folders cover most organizing needs without much setup. iCloud sync is quick across iPhone, iPad, and Mac, and Apple Pencil support is a real draw if you sketch or write by hand.
