Pick Infor Visual if you're a small to mid-sized discrete or process manufacturer focused on shop floor control.

Infor M3 is cloud-based on AWS and covers distribution, equipment, chemicals, fashion and food and beverage with deep industry features. It handles make-to-stock, configure-to-order and make-to-order in one system, plus after-sales service and rental. That breadth works well if your value chain is complex and spans countries.

Infor Visual narrows the focus to manufacturing. Users praise its work order costing, production scheduling and quality management. It's built for aerospace, automotive, electronics and medical device makers who care most about accurate costs and shop floor visibility. You can run it on-premise or hosted, which Infor M3 doesn't offer.

Both products use quote-based pricing, so you'll need to contact Infor for a number. Keep in mind that Infor M3's shared cloud infrastructure is meant to lower your total cost of ownership over time, while Infor Visual's flexibility on deployment may matter more if you have IT constraints.

Neither product has a modern interface, and users flag the UI on both. Infor Visual also gets pushback on financial reconciliation, which is a real issue if your finance team has complex needs.
