**My verdict:** Choose ADP Workforce Now if payroll processing, compliance and operational simplicity are your top priorities. Consider other options if advanced analytics and strategic workforce planning are non-negotiable.

If you’re in a shift-based or field-heavy industry, like healthcare or manufacturing, and looking to expand, Paylocity is a smart, cost-effective Workday alternative to consider.

Beyond industry fit, scalability is another key consideration if you’re a growing business evaluating Paylocity. The platform matches Workday in scalability, making it a viable option for growing organizations.

Here’s where Paylocity outperforms Workday:

* Greater payroll feature coverage, earning Paylocity a 96 compared to Workday’s 90.

**My verdict:** Choose Rippling if you’re a high-growth, tech-forward business seeking fast, integrated HR and IT automation. However, consider other choices if you need global payroll, compliance scale or advanced analytics.

**Buying Tip:** Model out your roadmap for the next year or two to see what it would cost if you added performance, learning, finance or IT add-ons. Rippling’s pricing starts low, but almost every feature from recruiting and LMS to custom workflows will cost you.

### TriNet HR Plus: Best for Benefits Management

TriNet HR Plus is a Workday alternative worth a look if you’re a small, growing U.S. business needing hand-holding for daily HR tasks.

**My Research**

Of all the HR platforms covered, Paycor was the only one I was able to test directly, logging 25 hours across real-world HR scenarios. For the rest, I took a deep dive into product websites, demo videos, customer case studies, user reviews and Reddit threads to understand how each one performs in practice.
