Zendesk fits all company sizes and works well when you support customers across phone, chat, email, WhatsApp, Facebook and Twitter. Its AI-based routing, ticket sentiment analysis and custom dashboards help larger support groups stay organized. Help Scout leans into a shared inbox model with collision detection, saved replies and Beacon for in-page knowledge base access.

Pricing differs in scope. Zendesk starts at $55 per user per month, with plans climbing to $115 per agent per month for Suite Enterprise. Help Scout starts at $20 per user per month and tops out at $65 per user per month, billed annually. Both can feel pricey once you add agents or pick higher tiers.
