Help Scout pricing starts at $20 per user per month, billed monthly, with plans running up to $65 per user per month. You're paying for a managed service, a shared inbox built for collaboration, and a knowledge base tool with Beacon for in-app help.

FreeScout starts at $0 because the core platform is free and open-source. You install it on your own servers, which keeps licensing costs out of the picture.
