**Bottom line:** simPRO and ServiceM8 both target trade and service work, but they fit different shops. Pick simPRO if you run a growing electrical, HVAC, plumbing or security business that needs deep job, inventory and fleet tools in one place. Pick ServiceM8 if you're a small crew that wants something quick to set up and cheap to run.

simPRO leans toward end-to-end operations. You get estimating, scheduling, inventory control, fleet tracking with geofencing, and tight links to Xero, QuickBooks Online and NetSuite. That depth is useful if accounting sync and asset maintenance planning matter to you.

ServiceM8 keeps things lighter. It focuses on daily field basics like quoting, scheduling, invoicing and on-site payments, plus 24/7 online booking for customers. Offline access on the iOS app is handy when staff work in spotty coverage.

On pricing, simPRO starts at $30 per user per month, while ServiceM8 starts at $29 per month. The billing models differ, so don't treat these as apples to apples. simPRO scales per seat, which can add up for larger crews. ServiceM8's flat monthly entry point suits teams up to around 30 staff.

Tech stack fit matters too. If you're already on QuickBooks or Xero and want polished accounting workflows, simPRO is the safer bet. If your team is iOS-only and you value speed over configuration, ServiceM8 lands closer to home.

One more tradeoff: simPRO rewards the time you spend learning it, but users note the ramp is steep. ServiceM8 is faster to adopt, but you'll hit ceilings on inventory, customization and Android support sooner.
