Our Review **Bottom line:** SQL Server Integration Services and Cloud Data Fusion both give you a visual ETL builder, but they fit different worlds. Pick SSIS if your data and tools already live in the Microsoft stack on Windows. Pick Cloud Data Fusion if you're working in Google Cloud or want a fully managed cloud service that mixed-skill teams can share. SSIS is built into SQL Server and shines when you're moving data between SQL Server, Azure, SAP, and other Microsoft sources. Our analysis shows it handles complex transformations without a staging area and connects to a broad set of databases and file types. The tradeoff is platform lock-in. It only runs on Windows, and the closed-source design can make deep debugging painful. Cloud Data Fusion takes the opposite path. It's a managed Google Cloud service with a drag-and-drop builder, more than 150 pre-built connectors, and tight links to BigQuery and Dataproc. Users praise how quickly mixed teams can ship pipelines together. The flip side is less room for custom code and trickier debugging when something inside the visual layer breaks.
