You get reliable spam filtering, Predictive URL Defense, and a BEC engine that uses machine learning to catch impersonation. Users like the clean interface and the One-Click Message Pull for fast incident response. Defender goes broader. Safe Attachments detonates files in a sandbox, Safe Links rewrites URLs at click time, and Automated Investigation and Response handles a lot of the triage work for you. Attack Simulation Training and Advanced Hunting give security teams more to work with than Proofpoint Essentials offers out of the box.
