You’re not just comparing [CRMs](https://www.selecthub.com/c/crm-software/). You’re championing a decision to help your org scale. This choice needs to earn buy-in across teams and leadership — and hold up over time. Basic feature comparisons won’t cut it.

[Salesforce Sales Cloud](https://www.selecthub.com/p/crm-software/salesforce-sales-cloud/) and [Oracle CX Sales](https://www.selecthub.com/p/crm-software/oracle-sales-cloud/) both promise enterprise-grade capabilities. But the real question is fit: How well does each platform align with how your business runs?

That clarity depends on knowing which features are fully supported, which aren’t supported at all, and everything in between. Without that insight, the complexity and maintenance overhead creep in fast. Before long, you’re stitching together third-party apps, developing costly workarounds, and sinking more budget into add-ons.

This side-by-side Salesforce vs. Oracle comparison will help you evaluate fit and avoid the hidden “gotchas”. While Salesforce stood out in our analysis for offering broader out-of-the-box features, Oracle brings its own advantages depending on your priorities.

[Salesforce Sales Cloud](https://www.selecthub.com/p/crm-software/salesforce-sales-cloud/ "Salesforce Sales Cloud")

### Account and Contact Management

98

96

**Our Pick:** Oracle CX Sales offers a stronger toolset, thanks to its built-in AI-driven contact recommendations and strong hierarchy tools.

Both Salesforce and Oracle CX Sales let you create records, view hierarchies, log interactions and map locations with ease. They evenly match on core capabilities like contact creation, account hierarchies and integration mapping.

Oracle’s edge comes from its built-in AI that suggests the right contacts to reach out to based on past deal history and how strong your relationships are. Salesforce requires add-ons and higher-tier plans for similar functionality.

On the flip side, Salesforce stands out with self-service appointment scheduling, letting customers book directly via shared links, something Oracle limits to internal rep scheduling.

While exploring Salesforce, I found the contact and account setup refreshingly intuitive — I could easily add relationships between records and log calls or emails with just a few clicks. The layout made it simple to surface related contacts, view engagement history, and even trigger quick follow-up actions from the same screen.

### Communication Management

[Salesforce Sales Cloud](https://www.selecthub.com/p/crm-software/salesforce-sales-cloud/ "Salesforce Sales Cloud")

### Communication Channels

66

86

**Our Pick:** Salesforce comes with better voice tools, email tracking and automation.

Salesforce offers more out-of-the-box functionality than Oracle, including built-in email signatures, call reminders, voicemail storage, transcription and email tracking. Most of Oracle’s equivalent features require integrations or add-ons like [RingCentral](https://www.selecthub.com/p/business-phone-systems/ringcentral/) and [Eloqua](https://www.selecthub.com/p/marketing-automation-software/eloqua/), which can increase setup time and costs.

![Salesforce Digital Customer Service]()

Voice features are also stronger in Salesforce. Its native Sales Dialer and Einstein Conversation Insights provide automated logging, call recording and transcription. Oracle supports similar capabilities but only through partner integrations.

### Dashboards and Reports

[Oracle Sales Cloud](https://www.selecthub.com/p/crm-software/oracle-sales-cloud/ "Oracle Sales Cloud")

[Salesforce Sales Cloud](https://www.selecthub.com/p/crm-software/salesforce-sales-cloud/ "Salesforce Sales Cloud")

### Dashboards and Reports

100

100

**Our Pick:** Salesforce and Oracle tie, both offering comprehensive reporting suites.

Both Salesforce and Oracle give you access to rich data visualizations, customizable dashboards, and pre-built and custom reports. You can create charts, analyze win-loss trends and generate scheduled reports in multiple formats.

I tested Salesforce’s visual report builder by creating multiple dashboards and was impressed by the flexibility. It was easy to pull in different report types, tweak filters on the fly, and rearrange charts to highlight the metrics I cared about most. The tools are straightforward — you won’t need to get help from IT or write any code.

![Salesforce Sales Cloud KPI Dashboard]()

User dashboards are also highly configurable in both platforms, offering a snapshot of tasks, KPIs and recent activities. Whether you’re using Oracle’s infolets or Salesforce’s visual report builder, both tools let you track key metrics, filter data in real time and build dashboards without the need for third-party tools or custom development.

[Salesforce Sales Cloud](https://www.selecthub.com/p/crm-software/salesforce-sales-cloud/ "Salesforce Sales Cloud")

### Document Management

74

92

**Our Pick:** Salesforce gets the edge thanks to built-in version tracking, structured knowledgebase support and smarter document search.

Salesforce and Oracle CX Sales each offer a central hub to store, search and share documents, with access controls to ensure the right team members or partners can view and collaborate on them. You get features like file sharing, content libraries and full-text search.

Salesforce goes a step further with Einstein Search, which delivers faster, more personalized results. Oracle’s [Sales Lightbox](https://docs.oracle.com/en/cloud/saas/sales/faaps/op-lightboxdocuments-post.html) offers similar storage and sharing tools, along with adaptive global search.

Salesforce lets you track and restore previous file versions, while Oracle doesn’t support version history. It also offers a knowledge base through Lightning Knowledge, included in some Service Cloud editions and available as a paid add-on in others. Oracle, in contrast, focuses on embedded guidance like Smart Tips and Sales Lightbox instead of formal article publishing.

### Lead Management

88

96

**Our Pick:** Salesforce delivers stronger built-in enrichment and broader AI-driven lead automation.

Salesforce offers a full suite of lead management tools with strong native automation. Its Data Cloud enriches lead records using firmographic and behavioral data. It also supports LinkedIn Lead Gen, web-to-lead forms, and AI-powered scoring through Einstein to help you prioritize high-converting prospects.

Oracle covers the full lead lifecycle as well, including predictive scoring and rule-based routing. It also offers a more robust built-in email parser than Salesforce does. However, key features like data enrichment rely on paid integrations with Dun & Bradstreet.

### Mobile Capabilities

[Oracle Sales Cloud](https://www.selecthub.com/p/crm-software/oracle-sales-cloud/ "Oracle Sales Cloud")

[Salesforce Sales Cloud](https://www.selecthub.com/p/crm-software/salesforce-sales-cloud/ "Salesforce Sales Cloud")

### Mobile Capabilities

86

91

**Our Pick:** Salesforce packs a more robust mobile app experience and field tools.

With Salesforce, you get responsive design, offline access, push notifications, check-ins and personalized workspaces. Its native iOS and Android apps let mobile users manage records, collaborate via Chatter and access key sales data on the go. It also supports caller ID (in beta). But if you need a built-in card scanner, you’ll have to rely on third-party tools like Vision-e-Scan.

![Salesforce Sales Clouds Mobile App]()

Salesforce Sales Cloud’s Mobile App. [Source](https://www.salesforce.com/solutions/mobile/getting-started/)

Oracle CX Sales matches most of Salesforce’s mobile capabilities and includes native card scanning. It offers mobile dashboards, offline access, push alerts and a map-based “What’s Around Me?” feature for field reps. However, it doesn’t support caller ID, and push notifications require configuration in the application composer.

[Salesforce Sales Cloud](https://www.selecthub.com/p/crm-software/salesforce-sales-cloud/ "Salesforce Sales Cloud")

### Opportunity Management

100

97

**Our Pick:** Oracle stands out with built-in, AI-based sales recommendations.

Oracle’s AI-based recommendations come fully embedded at no extra cost. The scoring engine doesn’t just compare rep estimates with AI predictions; it also guides your team through structured assessments using predefined criteria and checklists. You’ll also get more flexibility to customize sales stages than what Salesforce offers, along with built-in rotting logic that flags deals stuck in a stage for too long.

Salesforce offers Einstein tools that analyze past deals to predict win rates and flag stuck opportunities. It provides[ Kanban views](https://thedigitalprojectmanager.com/projects/pm-methodology/kanban-board/), multiple pipelines and campaign attribution out of the box. While product recommendations need CPQ (a paid add-on), features like activity tracking and opportunity scoring come built in. You also get visual dashboards to monitor deal health and progression.

### Partner Relationship Management

100

48

**Our Pick:** Oracle delivers a complete partner management toolkit — no paid add-ons needed.

Oracle gives you a fully built-in partner portal that you can customize with your own branding. You also get deal registration tools to reduce channel conflict, MDF tracking to stay on top of campaign spending, and partner scorecards to measure performance — all without paying for extra licenses or doing heavy setup.

If you want similar capabilities with Salesforce, you’ll need its partner relationship management add-on, which comes at an extra cost. While it includes built-in scorecards through customizable dashboards, more advanced scoring features often require third-party AppExchange tools.

### Product Management

### Product Management

83

100

**Our Pick:** Salesforce earns the edge with a more complete quote setup and pricing flexibility.

When it comes to the basics, you won’t go wrong with either product. Both Oracle and Salesforce let you create detailed product records, organize them into catalogs or groups, track pricing with standard and custom price books, apply discounts, and link products to opportunities.

But Salesforce has a clear advantage with its out-of-the-box tax configuration. You can apply taxes directly within quotes without needing external modules. Oracle doesn’t support this capability natively, which can create friction for teams that need quick, accurate quote totals.

[Salesforce Sales Cloud](https://www.selecthub.com/p/crm-software/salesforce-sales-cloud/ "Salesforce Sales Cloud")

### Quotes, Orders, and Contracts Management

97

95

**Our Pick:** Oracle delivers more native quote-to-cash functionality.

Both platforms cover the essentials — quote creation, order tracking, contract history and status updates.

But Oracle edges ahead by offering deeper native functionality without paid add-ons. Its built-in CPQ streamlines quote and order workflows, while the Enterprise Contracts feature provides a clause library, templates and centralized policy control for managing contracts. Oracle also supports invoice creation out of the box.

![Oracle CPQ]()

Quickly deliver tailored quotes with Oracle CPQ. [Source](https://www.oracle.com/cx/sales/cpq/)

Salesforce, on the other hand, requires Revenue Cloud for invoicing and its CPQ product for advanced quoting, both of which cost extra. It does offer flexible quote templates and automated invoice reminders via [Process Builder](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sf.process%5Foverview.htm&type=5), but that isn’t enough to close the gap.

[Salesforce Sales Cloud](https://www.selecthub.com/p/crm-software/salesforce-sales-cloud/ "Salesforce Sales Cloud")

### Sales Performance Management

85

96

**Our Pick:** Salesforce stands out with more native functionality for end-to-end campaign management and AI coaching.

Salesforce helps you build forecasts by rep or territory, set monthly or quarterly goals, and track performance over time. In my testing, I found it was easy to set targets, view forecasts and explore performance dashboards. The dashboards gave a clear view of targets and trends, making it easy to track team progress and adjust goals without digging through settings.

Einstein adds contextual coaching across deals, emails, calls and campaigns, though it requires a paid upgrade. You can also get territory hierarchies, campaign structures and gamification through Experience Cloud or third-party apps.

Oracle matches Salesforce across features for forecasting, goal tracking and territory configuration. Real-time forecast refreshes, top-down quota setting and embedded coaching via Intelligent Advisor are included too. However, it depends on Eloqua for advanced campaign tools and third-party platforms for gamification, both of which cost extra.

### Team Collaboration

[Oracle Sales Cloud](https://www.selecthub.com/p/crm-software/oracle-sales-cloud/ "Oracle Sales Cloud")

[Salesforce Sales Cloud](https://www.selecthub.com/p/crm-software/salesforce-sales-cloud/ "Salesforce Sales Cloud")

### Team Collaboration

67

100

**Our Pick:** Salesforce Sales Cloud is the stronger choice for real-time collaboration and record tracking.

Salesforce’s [Chatter](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=experience.collab%5Fsetting%5Fup.htm&type=5) feature provides richer native capabilities than what you get with Oracle, from direct messaging and @mentions to activity feeds and real-time updates. You can create dedicated sales workspaces, follow records for activity notifications, and configure collaborative opportunity teams with defined roles — all without requiring third-party tools.

![Salesforce Collaboration and Embedded Chat]()

Chat and video sit atop the Salesforce platform. [Source](https://www.salesforce.com/news/stories/introducing-collaboration-and-chat-embedded-into-salesforce-with-the-salesforce-anywhere-app/)

Oracle CX Sales supports private messages, team mentions and group-based collaboration. However, it lacks key elements like record following and a centralized team inbox. To access the activity feed and real-time collaboration tools, you’ll need to enable the Next Gen Sales (Redwood UX) experience.

### Integrations and Extensibility

[Salesforce Sales Cloud](https://www.selecthub.com/p/crm-software/salesforce-sales-cloud/ "Salesforce Sales Cloud")

### Integrations and Extensibility

76

92

**Our Pick:** Salesforce offers more out-of-the-box integrations.

Sales Cloud connects directly to tools like Dropbox, Google Workspace,[ Slack](https://www.selecthub.com/p/collaboration-software-tools/slack/),[ Mailchimp](https://www.selecthub.com/marketing-automation-software/mailchimp/),[ CMS platforms](https://www.selecthub.com/c/cms-software/), and even social media and video conferencing apps — all without third-party middleware. You also get robust API access, data import/export, and integrations with[ Microsoft 365](https://www.selecthub.com/p/collaboration-software-tools/microsoft-365/),[ BI tools](https://www.selecthub.com/c/business-intelligence-tools/) and[ ERP platforms](https://www.selecthub.com/c/erp-software/).

Oracle CX Sales keeps pace in key integrations like [CPQ](https://www.selecthub.com/customer-relationship-management/cpq-strategies/), ERP,[ e-signature](https://www.selecthub.com/c/electronic-signature-software/) and marketing tools. But it leans heavily on third-party platforms for many other connections, including[ help desk tools](https://www.selecthub.com/c/help-desk-software/), form builders and Google apps. It also lacks support for social media, CMS and webhooks.

### Platform Security

[Oracle Sales Cloud](https://www.selecthub.com/p/crm-software/oracle-sales-cloud/ "Oracle Sales Cloud")

[Salesforce Sales Cloud](https://www.selecthub.com/p/crm-software/salesforce-sales-cloud/ "Salesforce Sales Cloud")

### Platform Security

100

94

**Our Pick:** Oracle delivers stronger native encryption and out-of-the-box security controls.

Oracle CX Sales offers broader native coverage across critical areas such as GDPR, audit logs, SSO, IP restrictions, multi-factor authentication (MFA) and encryption at rest. It uses Oracle Identity Cloud for MFA and includes Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) by default, protecting stored data without requiring extra modules.

Sales Cloud provides strong out-of-the-box tools for compliance, including GDPR support, role-based permissions and SSO. Plus, it has flexible MFA options like app-based verification, biometrics and hardware keys. However, it lacks native encryption at rest, which is only available through the paid Shield Platform Encryption.

| **Easy To Use:** Many users report that Salesforce has a user-friendly and intuitive interface, making it accessible to both beginners and experienced users. **Flexible Customization:** Developers find that the level of customization helps them extend Salesforce’s features effectively. **Reliable Vendor Support:** Salesforce offers quality support. Users often mention that the company treats them more like partners than just customers. | **Streamlined Sales Process:** Users state that Oracle Sales helps them automate steps from lead generation to opportunity management. **Better Sales Visibility:** Users appreciate the comprehensive view of their sales pipeline for tracking progress and spotting areas for improvement. **Stronger Customer Relationships:** Users often mention that Oracle helps them provide a personalized experience. |

### Cons According to User Reviews

| Salesforce Sales Cloud | Oracle CX Sales |
| -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Learning Curve:** While the interface is user-friendly, users need proper training to use Salesforce efficiently, especially for more advanced features. **Pricing:** Several users, particularly from smaller organizations, point out that the overall price can be a concern for businesses with limited budgets. **Resource Intensive:** While Salesforce can do almost anything, it often requires a dedicated team and skilled resources to manage it effectively. | **Learning Curve:** It has a steep learning curve and a less intuitive interface, which can make onboarding difficult for new users. **Cost:** The platform can be expensive to implement and maintain, especially for small businesses. **Complexity:** Oracle can be complex to use, which might require significant training for your sales team. |

## My Verdict

### When to Choose Salesforce

Salesforce Sales Cloud is a strong fit if your team values flexibility and needs a CRM that can grow with your sales strategy. It’s especially useful for fast-moving businesses that don’t want to feel boxed in by rigid systems. You can adapt workflows, reports and dashboards to match how your team operates, which makes onboarding smoother and scaling easier.

It’s also a solid choice if you want more control over reporting, performance tracking, and how you manage the sales process. And if visibility and collaboration are high on your list, Salesforce delivers. Whether you’re monitoring pipeline progress or keeping reps aligned, it gives you the tools to stay connected and responsive as your business evolves.

### When to Choose Oracle

Oracle CX Sales is a great choice if you need a secure, structured CRM that fits seamlessly into an enterprise environment. It’s built for teams that prioritize consistency in how they manage deals and data, especially when compliance, access control and auditability are must-haves. Most security and identity tools come built-in, so you won’t need to layer on extra software to stay protected.

It’s also a natural fit if your business already runs on Oracle. The platform integrates smoothly with the broader Oracle ecosystem, helping you keep data flowing across departments with minimal friction. And if you need your sales process to stay tightly aligned with IT or company-wide systems, Oracle gives you the structure and control to make that happen.

**My Research**
I tested Salesforce Sales Cloud hands-on, spending over 10 hours exploring the platform through its free trial to see how it performs in everyday use. Oracle doesn’t offer a free trial, so I leaned on our analyst data, user reviews and official product documentation. To fill in any gaps, I also watched demos and tutorials to better understand how key features work in context.

Here’s what I focused on testing in Salesforce:

* **Navigation:** I explored the interface to see how intuitive it is — looking for clean menus, clear labeling, and ease of accessing key features without training.
* **Contact Management:** I created and managed accounts and contacts to test how easily I could add, edit, organize and track customer info.
* **Dashboards & Reporting:** I customized dashboards and tested report templates to evaluate chart options, export features and how well each platform highlights key metrics.
* **Pipeline Management:** I built a full sales pipeline — created leads, converted them to deals, added products and moved the leads through stages to assess flexibility and tracking.
* **Integrations:** I connected each CRM with common work tools and explored available integrations — checking for native support and API flexibility.
* **Email Marketing:** I built and sent emails, tested templates, and evaluated tracking, automation, and personalization capabilities.
* **AI Features:** I explored AI tools included in the free trial, such as email writing, data entry automation and insight generation.
* **Workflow Customization:** I created workflows to test how well each system adapts to different business processes and how much time automation can save.

I don’t think the people who wrote this article have really seen the applications. Using Oracle Service Cloud screenshots (that too old screens probably 3 to 4 years back) to talk about Oracle Sales Cloud contact management features? Come on

Pardot is really better than Eloqua ? I must be dreaming 😀

Hi Lukas, thanks for reading and commenting.
To address your comment, both products can be capable depending on a company’s requirements. However, generally speaking, Pardot has the edge over Eloqua based on our research. Pardot offers a native connector for Google AdWords, and Einstein offers AI-based lead scoring, behavior scoring and campaign insights. Pardot’s implementation cycles are quicker, easier and less expensive as well. And if a company already uses Salesforce, then using Pardot will be much more efficient and cost effective. If Eloqua is used with Salesforce, the cost of API calls between the systems can be an extra overhead.
Eloqua does offer some advanced capabilities, but it’s less user-friendly for an average marketing user (Pardot doesn’t require as much coding).

This article is very misleading in that in one section it uses a Service Cloud screen shot to describe Oracle Marketing features. To be accurate, you will need to update this with Marketing screen shot (from Eloqua). This is a market leading product offering that is rated higher than SFDC marketing in Gartner magic quadrant for multi-channel marketing hubs. In 2019, SFDC is only starting to pull forward with acquisition of Pardot. Also, competitive information IS definable in Oracle Engagement cloud. Please refer to link: <https://docs.oracle.com/en/cloud/saas/engagement/19a/fasmc/setting-up-competitors.html#FASMC1907334>. I am from Pega so hopefully offering less-biased comments.
