**Our Research Process for Limble**

I spent 45 hours testing Limble, honing in on how easy it is to use, how well it manages assets and work orders, its mobile features, and how it handles preventive maintenance scheduling and reporting.

I also imported a bunch of asset and equipment data to make sure everything was set up right for testing. Prior to diving into the hands-on testing, I reviewed demo videos to familiarize myself with the system's functionality.

Finally, to see how well it worked for other businesses, I went through some case studies on the vendor’s website.

#### Researcher's Summary:

Limble is one of the most user-friendly platforms I've tested, and I’ve tested a lot of them (UpKeep, Fiix, eMaint and MaintainX, to name a few). That said, it still has its quirks.

One of Limble’s biggest strengths is its work order system. Creating a work order is quick. I liked that I could do it without having an asset already in the system. You can also share work orders externally by just adding an email.

The bulk import feature is another standout. You can upload up to 2,000 assets at a time, and Limble automatically organizes them into a hierarchy, saving what could be hours of work on setup.

I also appreciated the color-coded calendar view. It color-codes work orders by priority, lets you filter by asset type or assignment, and even lets you reschedule things with a simple drag-and-drop. Plus, a mini-dashboard at the bottom gives a snapshot of key metrics like MTBF, MTTR, open tasks and time spent.

Oh, and task completion memes? Didn’t expect to love them, but getting a .GIF of a dolphin dribbling a basketball when I finished a task was oddly satisfying. It’s a small thing, but it shows that Limble understands that maintenance work can be a little tedious, so that bright spot of personality built into the system helps keep engagement up.

On the flip side, the auto-start timer drove me crazy. The moment I opened a work order, the system assumed I was actively working on it, making it way harder to accurately track my time. I can imagine this causing issues for teams that rely on those logs for labor reporting.

Another point of frustration — I couldn’t add multiple procedures when initially creating a work order. Instead, I had to generate a work order first, then go back and edit it to add additional steps, which felt like unnecessary busywork that just slowed me down.

But Limble’s developers have clearly put tons of effort into usability. Every major section has a YouTube tutorial button that links directly to relevant videos. This was such a smart choice: no more digging through help documentation or searching through a YouTube channel trying to find the right tutorial.

Limble’s dashboard is fully customizable. I could track downtime, work order completion rates and labor hours with ease. Seeing real-time data at a glance made it easy to spot patterns, and I can see how teams could use this to make more informed maintenance decisions.

Setting up preventive maintenance (PM) schedules was straightforward too. I could create recurring PMs based on time, meter readings or threshold triggers, which gave me a lot of flexibility. I also liked that I could generate QR codes for PMs, making it easy for technicians to pull up instructions without searching through the system.

However, the PM relations feature had one big downside — once you link two PMs together, it’s permanent. There’s no undo option, so if you make a mistake, you have to delete the PM entirely and start over. Given how flexible the rest of Limble’s system is, this felt oddly restrictive.

I also spent some time with Limble’s mobile app, and while it carries over most of the functionality from the desktop version, the execution could be better.

The good: I could scan QR codes, attach invoices, request POs and update work orders all from my phone. The global search was also handy — it made finding specific assets, work orders and parts quick and painless.

The not-so-good? The UI felt cluttered, especially in portrait mode. Graphs were difficult to read, and the oversized icons made navigation feel less smooth than it should have been. Also, why no dark mode? Checking work orders late at night meant staring into a blinding white screen.

And yes, the auto-start timer issue exists in the mobile app too. If you open a work order, the timer kicks in whether you’re actually working or not.

But enough about my demo. Let’s talk about how Limble has made a real impact on businesses:

**[Rimex](https://limblecmms.com/case-study/rimex/) (manufacturer of wheels and rims)**

* Saw a 25% increase in planned work and a 30% reduction in downtime.
* Streamlined safety processes across locations, making their operations much more efficient.

**[Allagash Brewing](https://limblecmms.com/case-study/allagash-brewing/)**

* Reduced unplanned work by 40% and drastically improved machine reliability.
* Managed over 2,000 assets, keeping track of everything and making more data-driven decisions.

**[Tara Manufacturing](https://limblecmms.com/case-study/tara-manufacturing/)**

* Reduced downtime from 90% to 15% within weeks of using Limble.
* Saved over $100,000 in the first year by implementing better preventive maintenance scheduling.

**[Preferred Popcorn](https://limblecmms.com/case-study/preferred-popcorn/)**

* Completed 95% of administrative tasks via mobile directly from the job site.
* Successfully scaled maintenance processes as they opened a new facility and prepared for audits.

If you need a CMMS that helps you simplify work order management, asset tracking, preventive maintenance and inventory control, Limble is definitely worth considering. Just be prepared to work around a few quirks — and maybe get used to seeing some congratulatory dolphins when you finish a task.

## Key Features

* **Mobile Maintenance App:** Native iOS and Android apps provide better communication and a streamlined maintenance workflow on the go. Offers almost all the same capabilities as the desktop site with a leaner collection of features specific to the needs of field technicians, including speech-to-text, work order logs, push notifications and asset search.
* **Asset Management:** Includes maintenance logs, asset profiles, a searchable asset database and asset hierarchies that keep parent-to-child relationships organized. Managers can track KPIs and view real-time reports on asset information through IoT sensors and QR code scanning.
* **Work Orders:** Organize, process and track work orders in a centralized database accessible from any device. View upcoming tasks in a calendar interface and edit them by dragging and dropping.
* **Preventive Maintenance:** Automated preventive maintenance plan scheduling delivers work orders to previously assigned technicians and streamlines the work order creation process. An intuitive PM builder lets management create checklists or conditional logic scenarios that guide technicians through tasks, all of which are viewable via a calendar interface.
* **Predictive Maintenance:** Modular IoT sensor integrations enable testing predictive maintenance techniques before committing. Offers plug-and-play sensors, condition-based monitoring, threshold alerts and automated corrective work order creation.
* **Reports:** Custom dashboards provide insight into operations and visibility into the organization at various levels. Create custom KPIs to track the metrics and share them through email.
* **Inventory Management:** Monitor stock levels via receiving and shipping records. Set up push or email notifications to trigger when thresholds are met to prevent low inventory. Technicians can search parts and attach them to work orders to ensure the necessary tools are in stock.

## Cost Of Ownership

Frequently asked questions regarding Limble pricing include:

* **Q: How much does Limble typically cost?**
A: Limble offers tiered pricing based on the number of users and features required. Their most basic plan is free, while paid plans start around $28 per user, per month. This cost can increase to around $69 per user, per month for their most feature-rich plan. However, it's important to consider the total cost of ownership (TCO) which goes beyond the monthly subscription fee. Implementing a new CMMS might require additional costs for data migration, user training, or potential customization. Carefully evaluating your team size, current maintenance processes, and desired functionalities will help you determine the most cost-effective Limble plan for your needs.
* **Q: Is Limble a scalable solution for my growing business?**
A: Absolutely! Limble's pricing structure allows you to easily scale your subscription as your team expands. This means you only pay for the number of users actively using the software. Additionally, Limble offers different feature sets within their paid tiers, so you can choose a plan that best accommodates your evolving maintenance complexity. This scalability ensures your CMMS solution can grow alongside your business, potentially saving you from the hassle and cost of switching platforms later.
* **Q: Are there any hidden fees associated with Limble?**
A: Limble generally doesn't have hidden fees beyond the per-user monthly subscription cost. However, some factors can influence your overall expenditure. For instance, if your company requires extensive data migration or customization of the software, there might be additional one-time setup fees. It's crucial to discuss these possibilities with the Limble sales team during the initial consultation to ensure a clear understanding of all potential costs involved.

"description": "Limble CMMS is a cloud-based software designed to streamline maintenance activities for businesses that manage physical assets. It caters particularly well to small and medium-sized companies seeking an intuitive CMMS solution.Limble offers a user-friendly interface for work order creation, preventive maintenance scheduling, and asset tracking. Users praise its ease of implementation and accessibility, highlighting its suitability for teams without extensive CMMS experience. Additionally, Limble boasts features like inventory management, reporting tools, and mobile access, which contribute to improved organization and data-driven decision making.Compared to similar products, Limble positions itself as a cost-effective and user-centric alternative. While pricing specifics might vary depending on company size and needs, it generally falls within a competitive range for CMMS software, typically offered on a per-user, monthly subscription basis.ProsEasy to useMobile friendlyAffordableImproved organizationData insightsConsLimited reportsFewer integrationsMay lack featuresNot ideal for large teamsOur Research Process for LimbleI spent 45 hours testing Limble, honing in on how easy it is to use, how well it manages assets and work orders, its mobile features, and how it handles preventive maintenance scheduling and reporting.I also imported a bunch of asset and equipment data to make sure everything was set up right for testing. Prior to diving into the hands-on testing, I reviewed demo videos to familiarize myself with the system's functionality. Finally, to see how well it worked for other businesses, I went through some case studies on the vendor’s website.",

"reviewBody": "Limble is one of the most user-friendly platforms I've tested, and I’ve tested a lot of them (UpKeep, Fiix, eMaint and MaintainX, to name a few). That said, it still has its quirks. One of Limble’s biggest strengths is its work order system. Creating a work order is quick. I liked that I could do it without having an asset already in the system. You can also share work orders externally by just adding an email. The bulk import feature is another standout. You can upload up to 2,000 assets at a time, and Limble automatically organizes them into a hierarchy, saving what could be hours of work on setup.I also appreciated the color-coded calendar view. It color-codes work orders by priority, lets you filter by asset type or assignment, and even lets you reschedule things with a simple drag-and-drop. Plus, a mini-dashboard at the bottom gives a snapshot of key metrics like MTBF, MTTR, open tasks and time spent.Oh, and task completion memes? Didn’t expect to love them, but getting a .GIF of a dolphin dribbling a basketball when I finished a task was oddly satisfying. It’s a small thing, but it shows that Limble understands that maintenance work can be a little tedious, so that bright spot of personality built into the system helps keep engagement up.On the flip side, the auto-start timer drove me crazy. The moment I opened a work order, the system assumed I was actively working on it, making it way harder to accurately track my time. I can imagine this causing issues for teams that rely on those logs for labor reporting.Another point of frustration — I couldn’t add multiple procedures when initially creating a work order. Instead, I had to generate a work order first, then go back and edit it to add additional steps, which felt like unnecessary busywork that just slowed me down. But Limble’s developers have clearly put tons of effort into usability. Every major section has a YouTube tutorial button that links directly to relevant videos. This was such a smart choice: no more digging through help documentation or searching through a YouTube channel trying to find the right tutorial.Limble’s dashboard is fully customizable. I could track downtime, work order completion rates and labor hours with ease. Seeing real-time data at a glance made it easy to spot patterns, and I can see how teams could use this to make more informed maintenance decisions.Setting up preventive maintenance (PM) schedules was straightforward too. Given how flexible the rest of Limble’s system is, this felt oddly restrictive.I also spent some time with Limble’s mobile app, and while it carries over most of the functionality from the desktop version, the execution could be better. If you open a work order, the timer kicks in whether you’re actually working or not.But enough about my demo. Let’s talk about how Limble has made a real impact on businesses:Rimex (manufacturer of wheels and rims) Saw a 25% increase in planned work and a 30% reduction in downtime. Streamlined safety processes across locations, making their operations much more efficient.Allagash Brewing Reduced unplanned work by 40% and drastically improved machine reliability. Managed over 2,000 assets, keeping track of everything and making more data-driven decisions.Tara Manufacturing Reduced downtime from 90% to 15% within weeks of using Limble. Saved over $100,000 in the first year by implementing better preventive maintenance scheduling.Preferred Popcorn Completed 95% of administrative tasks via mobile directly from the job site. Successfully scaled maintenance processes as they opened a new facility and prepared for audits. If you need a CMMS that helps you simplify work order management, asset tracking, preventive maintenance and inventory control, Limble is definitely worth considering. Just be prepared to work around a few quirks — and maybe get used to seeing some congratulatory dolphins when you finish a task."
